Gatorade REPLAY Trailer

gazelleThanks to Gatorade, a select group of the most heated rivalries in high school sports will have an opportunity to finally settle the score in 2009.

Brophy and Marcos played to a scoreless tie in the 1990 Arizona 5A state soccer final — and 19 years later the squads are petitioning Gatorade to let ’em lace up their cleats once again to determine who is the real champion.

From the moment the Brophy and Marcos buses arrived at the state championship, there was a different vibe in the air. This was the first time both schools had advanced to the State Soccer Final – and each roster was stacked with All-America, All-State, All-Division and standout club soccer players.

It was the match-up everyone was secretly hoping for and the day had finally arrived.

Brophy knocked off defending state champion, Kofa, in a shootout (12-11) in the quarterfinals and Dobson (2-0) in the semifinals.

Marcos beat Moon Valley (1-0) in its semifinal match — Brophy’s arch nemesis in conference play — to set up this epic showdown.

Now, 19 years later the teams are united and focused on one goal:

“The game MUST be won!”

Dear Gatorade — please pick us!!!

REPLAY #2 is Brophy vs. Marcos (a re-match of the 5A state soccer final; and NO TIES!!!!)

Let’s make this happen!
